— Jonathan J. Foster, Indigo: The Color of Grief

Grief Counseling

Mooresville & Lake Norman, NC

Grief doesn't follow stages in a neat line. It comes in waves.

In a grocery store aisle. A song in the car. An empty chair at the table.

There's no right way to do this. But you don't have to do it alone.

The losses we carry

The death of someone you love.
A sudden loss, or a long goodbye.
Divorce, estrangement, the end of a relationship.
A job, a calling, a community, a faith.
The losses no one else seems to see.

How I work

I approach grief work from a narrative perspective. The work is built on meaning and story.

Grief and loss in all of it’s forms can shatter the story we are living. Grief therapy is the slow work of rewriting it, with the loss inside it.

Most people don't get over a loss. They learn to carry it, and to carry the person with them. Together we can tell the story, make sense of what happened, and find ways to stay connected to the one you lost.

Whether your loss was last week or years ago, I'd be glad to talk.
